1. Make a Dessert and Deliver to Neighbors

There are so many recipes online for leftover candy desserts.  Some simple ideas include adding leftover candy to fudge or cookies.  Check out these recipes HERE and HERE and HERE for different holiday ideas.  You could use any of these recipes for ANY holiday candy.  Also check out THIS post for Halloween specific candy ideas.

2. Give to School Teachers for Rewards

Many school teachers will give out rewards for kids for accomplishments, good behavior, etc.  It would be so easy to ask your children’s teachers if they would like any leftover candy to give to their students for rewards.

3. Save it for Gingerbread or Cookie Decorating with Neighbors

We like to put all of our leftover candy into a Ziploc bag, and then save it for when we are ready to make some sugar cookies or gingerbread men.  We then use the leftover candy to decorate the cookies.  You can give the cookies away to a friend or neighbor, or invite another family over to decorate cookies with you.

4. Throw a Candy Party for Family and Friends.

Another way to get rid of your leftover candy is to throw a party and give it all away to your guests.  Check out these adorable candy table ideas from Honey and Lime HERE.  Keep your party super simple, if you want, by just inviting friends over to paint nails, or watch a movie.

5. Make Candy Bracelets and Give to Friends

A fun candy craft for the kids would be to make candy bracelets out of your candy.  They can invite friends over to make candy bracelets with them, or make them and give them away to their friends.  Check out the blog, She Knows, for some super simple instructions on how to make the candy bracelets HERE. The kids will proudly show off their new jewelry, and if they get hungry, they’ve always got a snack with them.

6. Mosaic Candy Art

A mosaic candy craft would be really fun for the kids.  Help the little kids create a beautiful piece of art using their leftover candy.  As a bonus, it’s less candy that the kids will be eating, because it will become art, instead of food.  Check out some adorable ideas from Pink Stripey Socks HERE. It’s actually pretty simple, you can cut out a shape on a piece of colored construction paper, for the kids to fill in with candy. Grab some scissors, paper, glue, and your leftover candy, and you are all set to go.  You can make a flower, car, train, heart, anything! Encourage the kids to be creative with their shape.

After you’ve used the candy to decorate cookies, or bake in a cake, make sure and save the wrappers, because they can be used for serving others as well.  HERE are some fun crafts that you can do with the candy wrappers.  My 5th grader had all of her friends save starburst wrappers so that I could make a starburst wrapper necklace for her, and she loved it.  I used to make them when I was in junior high.

My daughter did this with some of her leftover candy.  She just grabbed a cute cellophane treat bag and filled it up.  Grab some cute bags HERE. There are tons of different colors.  These would be so cute for Valentine’s Day, or a birthday, or just any day. Sometimes the best time to receive something is not on a holiday.  It often feels more special that way.

10. Make a Candy Cake to Celebrate a Friend

As mentioned above, sometimes the best time to receive something is not on a holiday. Wouldn’t it be so fun to make a cake for someone for no reason at all? Not on a holiday, or anniversary, or birthday, but just any day, and just for being a good friend?  Well, go ahead and bake a cake and put some colorful candy on top, or bake it inside.  They will love it.

13. Candy Saran Wrap Game for Friends and Neighbors

Have you ever played the candy saran wrap game?  Invite Friends and Neighbors over for this fun and simple game to create.

You will need leftover holiday candy, saran wrap, and a pair of dice.  Basically, you wrap the candy up in a giant ball of saran wrap, with several layers of saran wrap in between each piece of candy.  The players sit in a circle, and one person will roll the dice.  If they roll doubles, they will start unwrapping the ball as quickly as they can.  The next person will roll the dice and pass the dice as quickly as they can until someone else rolls doubles.  As soon as someone else rolls doubles, that person gets to steal the ball and start unwrapping wherever the first person left off.  You keep going until the saran wrap ball is completely unwrapped.  Check out THIS illustrated guide to this fun game.

14. Deliver Caramel Apples with Candy to Teachers, Coworkers, or Friends

Make some caramel apples, and crush up your candy.  Dip the caramel apples in the candy, and take some around to your teachers, coworkers, friends, and neighbors. HERE is a recipe for caramel apples, and just use up your leftover candy, rather than buying more.

15. Put all the Candy in a Piñata for a Friend’s Birthday

Another simple candy craft would be to shove all of your leftover candy into a pinata and throw a party. That candy will be gone in no time!
