There are so many unique ways to serve others in June. Below are ideas of how to serve others in small, but meaningful ways.
June probably got its name from Juno the Roman goddess of marriage and childbirth. This month brings a lot of weddings but also beauty and sunshine. What a great time to enjoy the sun and help others feel of your warmth.
June is when school is out and people are starting to go on summer vacations. This could be a good time to help your neighbors collect their mail or watch their house while they are gone. This month hosts the longest day of the year and is a time when we think of happiness with the sun shining. We can help others feel this happiness by serving them.
June is a great month to take some time to serve others. We are going to show you some of the easiest things you can do in June, whether it be to celebrate a father figure in your life or take a friend out for ice cream. These service ideas will help you connect with others so you can feel a sense of support for one another.

1. Learn the Heimlich Maneuver.
National Heimlich Maneuver Day is in June. You never know when you might need to save someone’s life from choking. Learn or refresh your skills on how to perform this life saving technique by taking a first aid class. If you have ever saved a life please consider sharing your experience at #HeimlichManeuverDay.
2. Take a friend to get some doughnuts.
National Doughnut (Donut) Day is in June. Go connect with a friend you haven’t seen for awhile and buy their favorite donut!
3. Visit some local trails and pick up any garbage you see on your hike.
National Trail Day is in June. This day recognizes all the beauty the federal, state and local trails give us for our recreational use. Think about thanking individuals, like the rangers and park employees for maintaining the trails. We can also do our part and help keep the trails clean from debris.
4. Help or honor someone who is going through or has gone through cancer.
National Cancer Survivor’s Day is in June. A day for cancer survivor’s to be honored and to share their stories. Their inspiration from sharing their journey can help others who are struggling with cancer. Today, think about helping someone who is going through cancer or has recently gone through cancer by showing up for them. Go to their door, bring them some soup and/ or give them a note of how they inspire you.
5. Go to a drive-in movie or have a movie in your backyard and invite some friends.
National Drive-In Movie Day is in June. There are about 300 drive-in-movie theaters still in business, in the United States. Go support a drive-in-movie theater. If there isn’t one close by then host your own movie night in your backyard.
6. Show people you care today.
World Caring Day is in June. This is a day we show others we care about them by doing acts of service. Big or small, all acts matter. Be like a Carebears and show people you care.
7. Go to a movie with a friend.
National Movie Night is in June. Take a friend or some friends to a movie. After the movie, discuss things you like about the movie.
8. Donate pens to a teacher or students in need.
National Ball-Point Pen Day is in June. Give pens to students or teachers in need. Another idea is to write letters with ball-point pens to pen pals or friends. These are both great ways to serve others.
9. Give a shout out or do something nice for someone who makes life beautiful.
National Making Life Beautiful Day is in June. Celebrate the people around you that make life beautiful. This includes yourself. You can help make life beautiful for the people you come in contact with. Ideas include to help someone achieve a goal, help someone less fortunate, or highlight someone on social media that makes life beautiful.
10. Send red roses to a mentor or local hero.
National Red Rose Day is in June. Red roses are a symbol of love and the June birth flower. Send roses to a hero or someone who has touched your life. Let them know they matter to you and share with them why.
