Here are some ideas of August activities that you can do to serve others.  These are great ways to bring more sunshine into the lives of others by serving them this summer.

“This morning, the sun endures past dawn. I realise that it is August: the summer’s last stand.”― Sara Baume, A Line Made by Walking

For some, August is considered the last month of the summer where families are trying to get their last summer vacations at a lake, a park, or beach to relax before school starts. For others, families are busy preparing for the first day of school.  Fall sports are beginning and youth are busy preparing for their upcoming school events.

August is a time when many vegetables are ready to be harvested from the garden. Bees are active and producing honey for us to enjoy.

A cool fact is that the month of August receives its name from the first Roman employer Augustus Caesar who reigned from 27 BC until his death in AD 14. It was shortened to August.

Peridot, a summery, light green and golden toned gem, is the birthstone for August.

There are no major holidays in August but there are many National Days to look forward to like Watermelon Day, Root Beer Float Day and Banana Split Day. Below are ideas to go with some of the National Days of way to serve others.
