There are so many ways to serve others in the month of July. Below are ideas of how to serve others in small but unique ways.
But first, a few fun facts about the month of July. July is named after Julius Caesar who became dictator of Rome from 49-44 B.C. This summer month also hosts Canada Day on July 1st and Independence Day for the United States on July 4th. July is considered the hottest month of the year in the northern hemisphere as it is summertime and the southern hemisphere is going through winter.
Ruby is July’s birthstone and considered the king of gems that protects against evil. The word “ruby” means ruben, or red, in Latin. Some of the rarest forms of rubies can be more valuable than diamonds.
July is a month that family and friends get together and spend a lot of time outdoors together. This month is full of camping, bbq’s, outdoor games, baseball, fireworks and spending quality time together.
July is a great month to take some time to serve others. Today is National Postal Worker Day and also National U.S Postage Stamp Day. Thank a postal worker or send a letter or postcard to a loved one you haven’t heard from for a while and celebrate this form of communication by using a stamp. If in Canada, celebrate your independence. Have a BBQ and watch fireworks.
